Homework

Routine classroom "homework" is having your child select a sharing item for
Thursdays.

If your child would like to do "homework" by themselves, or alongside their
older siblings some suggestions are:

1. Cutting different designs and variations of basic shapes, following the
line (child size 'Fiskar' brand scissors are recommended).
2. Going on "color","shape," and "letter," hunts thoroughout your house and
other outside environments (i.e., the supermarket, shopping mall).
3. Identifying the basic colors, shapes, and numerals (one through ten).
4. Drawing a recognizable house and "mommy" or "daddy", and idenifying basic
body parts that get drawn on a person.
5. Reviewing your last name, address, and phone number with your children (we
will be doing this more often as the year progresses).
6. Having your child first trace, and then print their first name (tracer
pages are available on "links" website page for printing).

You know your child and what they enjoy, use your own discretion to pick an
activity they would like to practice. These ideas are meant to be "fun work"
for your child and not a chore they may be resistant to doing!
